Life in the fast lane

Time seems to be whizzing by, the end of the school holidays are drawing near. With only one child to see off to school this year things should be more simple, well any way I have my fingers crossed on that one. We took a trip to the Power House Museum to see the Star Wars exhibition, Samuel has always been a huge Star Wars fan and I think this may have just rated as his top event of the holidays, the year, his life etc etc.

Lots of people which made it hard to get photos but so worth it. The photos are on the new camera, I now need to go and get a card reader to get them off the new camera LOL!

For both of them I used photos that are not great (and I didn't edit them) but they show the relationship that is developing between Samuel and Zac. It is so nice to see. Samuel loves being a big uncle LOL!

My Bliss

Wow, what an introduction. I don’t quite know how I’ll live up to that. I am very happy to be part of Leanne’s team as we are on the same wavelength and have such a hoot together, even when we aren’t in the same room.

 She’s right though, I do love to scrap and have done so for a lot of years. I enjoy the making of keepsakes, but also participating in the making of the memories. I am grateful that I can spend so much time with my family and friends in their day to day, because that’s what I would like to be remembered. Sure I scrap the big things, you know the birthdays and celebrations, but you can tell a lot about a person, by their day to day stuff and I want my kids to remember that they had a great childhood and to look back and enjoy my perspective of it all.

 This is my Bliss, to take photos (no matter how bad) and create something that people will want to look at and enjoy today, tomorrow and forever.

I have been stuck in a bit of a Heidi daze lately. I am still trying to finish the calendar last week we had a bit of a scrapbooking bee here and worked on the top pages....

I was trying to work out my favourite and really I cannot decide, they are all gorgeous and definitely not the way I usually scrap, which is why they are so good kwim? But I think on a bit of reflection that probably this one is, I really like using all of my paper and love that this one used scraps...

So tomorrow I have a whole day of scrapping planned and hopefully I will have a completed calendar before the end of the month - fingers crossed.

Have also been working on the December Daily....

This one was fun to make cause i had to eat chocolates to do it!

 

And I love this one, just represents that great stage of life, where my daughter is one of my really good friends who I love hanging out with....

 

The December Daily is still a work in progress, but so far these are some of the items used;

Making Memories Fa La La range, Scenic Paper Route Days of the week stamp, and also sprinkled liberally throughout are stickers from 7 Gypsies Joy, love that you get so many stickers on these sheets!

PeaBee is now a guest contributor to this blog, so as well as being able to view her amazing layouts and creations on the gallery there will be more of her here in person so to speak.

PeaBee probably scraps more than any person I know and so she really inspires you to take those photos and get them scrapped. Save that memory for prosperity and also to look back on and laugh about.

And the winner is....

The month of December saw Joyful Scraps doing many and varied things including sponsoring our first competition on  Top 50 Scrapbooking Sites Australia.

In theory it sounded easy, just pick a winner, the reality was something quite different. There are very talented paper crafters out there! The rules were: For Challenge #2 we are going with a colour combination of pink, lime green, and chocolate. It shall be interesting to see the finished layouts from this challenge. You can either create a card or a layout, whichever you prefer, but you must stick with only the 3 colours stated above.

It was so hard, cards and layouts, and I loved the budgie, But in the end I could not go past this lovely layout by Bumblebee

I love the detail in this layout, all of these layers and that hand cut tree! Way to go!

I wish that I had know about scrapbooking when my children were Zacs age. I now look at things so differently, including making sure that for his first birthday we had wrapping paper that would photograph well...

and making a cake that served no purpose other than to help him get messy for the photos LOL!

I cant wait to scrapbook these kwim.
